The Society has set up an integrated facility including the following:
A) ULTRA MODERN PACK HOUSE:
Highly conductive temperature of 23 C and RH of 75%. The whole packhouse is cooled at 23 C and 65% to 75% RH-an excellent atmosphere to receive the grapes. The grapes are thus kept in proper condition from the time of arrival and there is no deterioration in quality during the packing operation. The high humidity preserves the stem and the grapes and the whole bunch remain in a perfectly fresh condition. Also, graders and packers in the packhouse work in highly relaxed and comfortable atmosphere thus giving a higher output of packing.
B) ULTRA MODERN SCIENTIFIC LIGHTING SYSTEM
The whole packhouse is appropriately and scientifically lighted by the Philips lighting system, which ensures uniform, equal intensity lighting in whole pack house. The light is maintained at true light colour resembling natural sunlight. This facilitates
accurate grading. For an example, the water berries, the blemished berries are easily weeded/removed out the lot of good berries.
C) Sophisticated Grading and Packing Line on a Motorized Conveyer.
The Grapes are graded and packed on a motorized conveyer provided with tables on both sides. There are 2 grading lines, with each line of 20-M length, with 20 tables and 40 workers working at a time simultaneously. The whole situation is on a work steady arrangement and ensures smooth, efficient and high quality grading and packing.
E) PRE-COOLING AND COLD STORAGE
The society has its own pre-cooling units of 6 MT capacity and 3 MT capacity per 6-hour batch and three cold storage of 30 M. T. capacity each. The project was commissioned in 1994
1) The Grapes are precooled at 2 C for 6 hours from their field temperature.
2) PRECOOLER: Imported from Pressure Cool Co. & built by California
3) Humifresh Pvt. Ltd.
4) The pre-cooler is IMPORTED from M/s. PRESSURE COOL OF USA and the plant is built by their Collaborator California Humifresh (I) Pvt. Ltd.
5) The room is finished with state-of-the-art precoated polyester sheets affording a high order of cleanliness and hygiene.
F) ROOM TEMPERATURE 2 C and 98% RH.
The relative humidity in the room is maintained at +98% RH which, ensures that
the berries are cooled most appropriately without any drying whatsoever of the
berries.
